Redshirt junior right-hander Brandon Mikos of the Youngstown State baseball team was named the Under Armour Horizon League Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Mikos scattered two hits and recorded a strikeout over three scoreless innings of relief in a 3-0 loss at Gardner-Webb on Saturday. The Canfield, Ohio, native faced the minimum of nine batters over his three innings on the mound as he induced three inning-ending double plays.
Mikos, who collects the first weekly award of his career, has recorded nine strikeouts in 10.1 innings pitched over three appearances and one start through the first four weeks of the 2025 season.
Youngstown State will play at Pitt on Wednesday at 3 p.m. before welcoming Milwaukee to Eastwood Field for a three-game Horizon League series. The Penguins and Panthers will open the series with a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday before playing a single game on Saturday at 3 p.m.
