Youngstown, Ohio — Youngstown State senior Jade Cote has been recognized as the Conference USA Co-Bowler of the Month for her performance in January. The conference office announced its awards on Wednesday.

This is the second straight year that Cote has earned the Conference USA award for January. She shared the honor with Vanderbilt's Isabel Allen.

Cote, a native of Farnham, Quebec, averaged an impressive 21.97 pins over 256 frames at two tournaments for Youngstown State in January. As YSU's primary anchor, the senior bowled in 100% of her possible frames during the month while averaging 22.32 in Baker and 21.52 in traditional play. She struck on 61.7% of her chances at the two tournaments.

At the Northeast Classic, Cote averaged a team-best 22.17 overall (22.30 in Baker, 21.96 in traditional) to guide Youngstown State to a second-place finish in the 38-team field. She placed 14th individually at the tournament with a five-game set of 1,098. At the PVAMU Invitational, Cote averaged 22.34 in Baker, 21.15 in the traditional format and 21.78 pins overall. She led the Penguins in Baker scoring again, and she was YSU's second-highest finisher in the individual standings.

For the year, Cote ranks fourth in Conference USA in overall scoring average at 21.22 pins per frame. She possesses the second-highest Baker average in the league, and she is pacing the conference with a .588 strike percentage.
