Youngstown State's Sophia Gregory has earned the Under Armour Horizon League Player of the Week award for her performances against two Mid-American Conference opponents in the final week of November, the league office announced on  Monday.

This is the first time in Gregory's career that she has been named the conference's Player of the Week. Gregory, a sophomore forward from Alliance, Ohio, was the Horizon League Freshman of the Week three times last season on her way to being named the conference's Freshman of the Year.

Gregory follows teammate Casey Santoro, who earned the honor last week, giving the Penguins two winners in the first four weeks of the 2025-26 season.

Gregory shot a league-leading 81.8% from the field while ranking among the top four players in the conference in scoring, rebounding and blocks last week. She averaged 20 points, nine rebounds and two blocks while helping the Penguins post their largest margin of victory at Akron in 46 years.

In Tuesday's four-point loss to Toledo, which was ranked second in the MAC Preseason Poll, Gregory was 8-for-9 from the field while posting team highs of 16 points and eight rebounds . She added two assists, two steals and two blocks. In Sunday's 90-63 win at Akron, Gregory had game highs of 24 points and 10 rebounds to go along with two assists, two steals and two blocks. Gregory was 10-for-13 from the field and 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

For the season, Gregory ranks second in the Horizon League with 8.4 rebounds per game and third with 1.0 blocks per game. She is shooting 63.8% from the field and averaging 9.7 points per game.

Youngstown State will begin December with three straight Horizon League games, starting with a contest at Milwaukee on Friday at 7 p.m. Eastern.
