Indianapolis, Ind. – Youngstown State senior Cris Carroll has been named the Under Armour Horizon League Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

This is the first time Carroll has earned the weekly award.

Carroll led the Penguins to at 1-1 record last week, including a 90-81 win at Grand Canyon on Nov. 7.

Carroll averaged 16 points and 4.5 rebounds per game and shot 57.1 percent (12-for-21) from the field and 50 percent (6-for-12) from 3-point range during the week.

He led the Penguins with 18 points on 7-for-12 shooting from the field, including three 3-pointers in the Penguins' loss to Pittsburgh, and Carroll added 14 points on 5-for-9 shooting with three more 3-pointers in the win over Grand Canyon.

Youngstown State hosts Penn State Shenango, Monday, Nov. 10, at 6:30 p.m. and visits St. Bonaventure, Saturday, Nov. 15, at 4 p.m.
