The Youngstown State men's and women's swimming and diving programs swept the #HLSD Swimmers of the Week after strong performances last weekend at the Akron Zips Classic, the league announced Wednesday.
Quinn Cynor was named the Horizon League Men's Swimmer of the Week for the second consecutive week after winning six events and helping set three meet records. Individually, Cynor placed first in the 100 backstroke with a meet-record time of 48.46, the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:48.58, and the 200 IM with a time of 1:50.28. He also excelled in relays, helping the Penguins win the 400-free relay with a meet-record time of 2:58.60, the 200-medley relay with a meet-record time of 1:28.59, and the 400-medley relay with a time of 3:16.96.
Olivia Sweetman was named the Horizon League Women's Swimmer of the Week after having four top-five finishes last weekend, including a runner-up finish in the 500 free (4:57.22) and third-place finish in the 1650 free (17:01.12).
The Penguins have a few weeks off before they make their return to the pool on Saturday, Nov. 8, for a dual at Cleveland State.
