Penguins Prep for Bucknell Invitational as Fall Season Proceeds

The Youngstown State men's golf team will continue its fall schedule on Sunday when it begins play in the three-day Bucknell Invitational at Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pa.
The Penguins are coming off a ninth-place finish in Cleveland State's Tom Tontimonia Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday from Lakewood Country Club in Westlake, Ohio. Redshirt sophomore Nolan Shilling finished tied for 36th with a three-round score of 220 (72-74-74) to come in as YSU's top individual.
Junior Jake Ryan fired a season-low, one-under-par 70 in the final round of the Tontimonia Invitational while sophomore transfer Bryar Moss carded a season-low round of 73 on the tournament's final day. In addition, sophomore Rocco Turner matched his season and career low round with an even-par 71 in Monday's second session.
The tournament field at the Bucknell Invitational will feature 17 other schools including Bryant, Bucknell, Canisius, Colgate, Fairleigh Dickinson, Holy Cross, LaSalle, Le Moyne, Manhattan, Monmouth, Mount St. Mary's, Niagara, Rider, Robert Morris, Saint Francis, St. Bonaventure and Wagner.
The field is scheduled to play 18 holes on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in the three-day, 54-hole event. Tee times off No. 1 and No. 10 are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. each day. The course will play approximately 6,253 yards and par is 70. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament via Scoreboard through links posted on YSUsports.com.
Head Coach Tony Joy has announced that YSU's five-player team lineup will feature Shilling, Ryan Sam, Jordan Kish, Michael Porter and Turner. In addition, Ayden Richmond will be competing as an individual for the Penguins.
Kish, Porter, Sam and Shilling have each participated in YSU's first four events this fall while Richmond and Turner have each competed in three tournaments.
