The Youngstown State football program had six student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, the organization announced.

Penguins earning accolades were QB Beau Brungard, OL Aidan Parker, PK Andrew Lastovka, OL Desmeal Leigh, LB Devin Johnson and LB Preston Zandier.

The 2024 Academic All-District® Football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and the NAIA.

Johnson, Brungard and Lastovka were named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference's All-Academic team as well.
