Milwaukee, Wis. – Four players scored in double figures, but the Youngstown State men's basketball team fell to Milwaukee, 79-64, on Friday evening at UWM Panther Arena.
Jason Nelson and Cris Carroll each scored 14 points to lead the Penguins (11-8, 6-3 Horizon League) while Ty Harper scored 12 points while Juwan Maxey added 11 points.
The Panthers (13-6, 6-2 Horizon League) were led by Faizon Fields with a game-high 21 points while Themus Fulks poured in 18 points. Jamichael Stillwell recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Although there were four lead changes, Youngstown State led for just 46 seconds while the Panthers led for 38:17.
Milwaukee connected on 52 percent from the field and outrebounded the Penguins 43-28. The Panthers also grabbed 15 offensive rebounds that led to 19 second-chance points.
The Panthers also scored 62 of their 79 points in the paint compared to just 28 for the Penguins.
Youngstown State visits Green Bay, Sunday, Jan. 19. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wis.
