Penguins Play Host to YSU Invitational This Weekend

The Youngstown State men's tennis team plays host to the YSU Invitational this Saturday and Sunday at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center. Teams joining the Penguins in the tournament are Duquesne, Case Western Reserve and Le Moyne.
Matches will begin at 9 a.m. each day and admission is free. With a home football game on Saturday, fans will have to pay to park throughout campus. Parking in the M-30 deck is $5 while non-tailgate lots near the facility are $10. On Sunday, parking will be $5 in the M-72 lot near the facility.
The tournament will feature three singles flights and a full doubles bracket.
In Flight A, Filip Avdeev, Onder Balci and William Rassat will be in action. In Flight B, Viktor Van Craenenbroeck, Alex Woiten and Matteo Ceradelli will be in action. In Flight C, Takamasa Mishiro will be the lone Penguin in action. Flight's A and B will feature 12 players while 10 will compete in Flight C.
The doubles duos are Balci and Craenenbroeck, Rassat and Woiten, Avdeev and Ceradelli, while Mishiro will team up with CWRU's Ben Martin. The doubles bracket features 16 seeds.
Only Balci and Rassat return from last year's squad. Balci won 23 singles contests while Rassat picked up 15 singles wins.
