Esther Solarin will be in action at the NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships on Saturday in the Triple Jump at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
The triple jump will start at 5:50 p.m. Eastern time/2:20 p.m. Pacific time. The event will be carried live on ESPN+. Solarin is one of 12 athletes who will jump in the first Flight. Following the conclusion of the second flight, the top eight will advance for three additional jumps.
Solarin qualified for the meet following a career-best leap of 13.09m at the NCAA East Prelims where she placed seventh. She won her first Horizon League Championship in the event in early May.
It marks the eighth straight year that YSU will have an athlete at the NCAA meet. On the men's side, Luke Laubacher finished 21st in the 110m hurdles on Wednesday.
She joins Erin Bogard (2023 – pole vault) and Danielle Curry (2013 – shot put) as the only YSU women to head to the NCAA Outdoor Championship final.
