Women’s Golf Returns to Action Monday at Lady Bison Invitational

The Youngstown State women's golf team will return to competition on Monday when it begins play in Howard University's two-day Lady Bison Invitational at Hawkstone Country Club in Gainesville, Fla.
The Penguins are coming off an 11th-place finish at the Columbia Classic in the team's first event of the spring season on Feb. 10-12. Junior Lizzie Saur matched her career-best three-round score of 222 (74-73-75) to finish tied for 14th in a field of 89 finishers. For her efforts, Saur was named Horizon League Women's Golfer of the Week for the first time in her career on Feb. 15.
The tournament field at the Lady Bison Invitational will feature 11 other schools including Bethune-Cookman, Creighton, Georgetown, Holy Cross, Howard, Maryland Eastern Shore, Merrimack, North Carolina Central, Omaha, Queens University of Charlotte and St. Francis (Pa.).
The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday in the two-day, 54-hole event. Play is scheduled to begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. each day. The course will play approximately 5,995 yards and par is 71. Live scoring will be available at Golfstat.com.
Head Coach Nate Miklos has announced that YSU's lineup will feature Neeranuch Prajunpanich, Saur, Danae Rugola, Chaela Barnett and Madie Smithco. In addition, Titita Loudtragulngam and Adena Rugola will be competing as individuals.
Barnett, Loudtragulngam, Prajunpanich, Saur and Smithco have competed in each of YSU's first six tournaments of the 2023-24 season. Adena Rugola will be participating in her sixth event of the campaign while Danae Rugola will be competing in her third tournament.
