Youngstown State senior guard Malia Magestro was voted to the 2023-24 Valeo Horizon League Women's Basketball All-Academic Team for her combined success on the court and in the classroom, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
Magestro, who hails from Hermitage, Pa., is one of seven student-athletes being recognized on the All-Academic Team. She was an honorable mention selection on the team and an Academic All-District pick in 2022-23.

For the year, she is averaging 9.7 points, and she has set career highs in assists and steals. Earlier this season, she became just the second Penguin ever to eclipse 150 career 3-pointers and 200 career free throws.
