Youngstown, Ohio — Youngstown State's Sarah Baker has been named the Under Armour Horizon League Freshman of the Week for the third time in the first five weeks of the season. The conference office announced its award winners for the period of Dec. 2-8 on Monday.

Baker, a native of Florence, Ky., previously earned the award for the first two weeks of the season. Her latest achievement comes for the first week of Horizon League play.

Baker filled the stat sheet against Milwaukee in her first career Horizon League game in leading the Penguins to a 66-50 victory. She set new career highs with 16 points and six assists, and she added seven rebounds, a block and a steal in 30 minutes. Baker was 6-for-11 from the field and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in her first career start.

Baker is averaging 7.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists while shooting 44.3% from the field this season. Her 16-point output against Milwaukee was her third double-digit scoring game in the first nine games of her career.

Youngstown State's next game will be at Ohio State on Saturday at 11 a.m. The game will be broadcast live on 1390 WNIO and B1G+.
