Youngstown, Ohio -- The Youngstown State softball team has released its 2025 schedule, Head Coach Brian Campbell announced.

The Penguins play three in-season tournaments, face opponents from the Big Ten and SEC conferences, and play their first 22 games away in South Carolina.

Youngstown State opens the campaign at the Wofford Tournament Feb. 7-9 in Spartanburg, S.C. The Penguins face Dayton, Towson, and Wofford during the season-opening weekend.

After a weekend off, the Penguins return to the Palmetto State for five games at the Winthrop Tournament Feb. 21-23. Youngstown State opens the tourney against St. John's and Brown on Feb. 21, Le Moyne and Winthrop on Feb. 22, and Brown on Feb. 23.

Youngstown State returns to Rock Hill, S.C. for five games hosted by Winthrop University Feb. 28-March 2. YSU faces St. Bonaventure and Charlotte on Feb. 28, Marist and USC-Upstate on March 1 and Southern Indiana on March 2.

The Penguins play a doubleheader against Winthrop on March 4 before visiting SEC member South Carolina on March 5.

YSU takes on Gardner-Webb and Furman March 7 and then again on March 8 before returning home to face Cleveland State, March 14-15, in the 2025 home and Horizon League opener.

A single game against Ohio State is slated for March 19, and the Penguins play their first Horizon League road games at Detroit Mercy, March 21-22.

The Penguins play back-to-back doubleheaders at home against Niagara on March 25 and at Bowling Green on March 26 before a Horizon League bye weekend March 28-29.

An eight-game homestand from April 1-9 sees the Penguins host Mercyhurst on April 1, Purdue Fort Wayne in a three-game league series on April 4-5, and another series against Robert Morris on April 8-9.

Youngstown State visits IUPUI in a three-game set April 12-13 before returning home for a non-league doubleheader against St. Bonaventure on April 15.

A three-game series at Green Bay on April 18-19 precedes the Penguins' final home contests of the season. Youngstown State closes out its home slate with a single game against Kent State on April 22 and a three-game series against Oakland April 25-26.

The Penguins close out the regular season with a league series at Northern Kentucky May 2-3 before the Horizon League Championship that run from May 7-10.
