Four Penguins To Compete at ITA Midwest Regionals

The Youngstown State women's tennis team will send four players to the ITA Midwest Regionals which begin on Thursday in Columbus, Ohio.
YSU is sending Lorena Cedeno, Julia Marko, Lili Minich and Yeseniia Ovcharova to the multi-day event.
Marko is coming off an impressive performance at the Horizon League Individual Championships where she won five contests to claim the title. She has won 10 of 11 matches so far this fall.
Cedeno won two matches in Cleveland and has four wins this fall. Minich also picked up two wins at the HL event and has won four matches so far this fall. Ovcharova has won two matches in the fall tournament season.
The tournament starts tomorrow with 64-player singles qualifying (16 advance to main draw) and then main draw runs Friday-Tuesday with 64-player singles and 64-doubles team draws. All matches are scheduled to be played outside. Consolation (one match out of qualifying singles and one match out of main draw singles) will be inside.
Main draw action is slated to be played outdoors at the Auer Tennis Complex, with consolation matches indoors. Play may also be moved indoors to the Ty Tucker Tennis Center in the case of inclement weather or darkness.
Admission and parking are free throughout the tournament. Live video from courts 1-6 will be available, with live scoring available starting with the singles and doubles quarterfinals, through OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
