Men’s Golf Continues Fall Slate Monday at Red Flash Invitational

The Youngstown State men's golf team will continue its fall slate on Monday when it begins play in the two-day Red Flash Invitational hosted by Saint Francis at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pa.
The Penguins are coming off a season-best fifth-place team finish at Cleveland State's Tom Tontimonia Invitational on Sept. 30-Oct. 1. YSU matched the program record for lowest 36-hole performance with a two-round team total of 571. Sophomore Jake Ryan tied for eighth with a two-round score of 140 (70-70) to collect his first-career top-10 finish.
The tournament field at the Red Flash Invitational will feature players from eight other schools including Bucknell, Cleveland State, Mercyhurst, Monmouth, Mount St. Mary's, Holy Cross, Saint Francis and West Virginia.
The teams will play 18 holes on both Monday and Tuesday in the two-day, 36-hole event. Tee times off No. 10 for Monday's first round are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Tee times off No. 1 for Tuesday's second session will also begin at 9 a.m. Live scoring will be available via ScoreboardLive through links posted on YSUsports.com and the program's social media accounts.
Head Coach Tony Joy has announced that YSU's five-player team lineup will feature Ryan, Jacob Sylak, Ryan Sam, Nolan Shilling and Jordan Kish. In addition, Michael Porter and Rocco Turner will be competing as individuals for the Penguins.
