Milwaukee, Wis. — Junior outside hitter Abbie Householder registered 11 kills as Youngstown State's volleyball team fell 3-0 at Milwaukee on Saturday at the Klotsche Center.
Householder's 11 kills came on 36 attempts, and tied for team-high honors with eight digs. The Penguins were held to 24 kills as a team while having 18 attack errors. Both teams had seven blocks.
Milwaukee's Madi Malone had 13 kills on 29 swings, and Lakyn Graves connected for 10 kills on 15 attempts without an error.
The Panthers hit .367 in the opening set, and they followed that up by hitting .429 in the second set as they took a 2-0 lead in the match. Youngstown State got off to a great start in the third set and built a 21-14 lead before Milwaukee rallied. With Householder in the back row, the Panthers scored 11 of the final 12 points with the bulk coming on Milica Tomic's serve.
Youngstown State will play its final three home matches of the season next week. The stretch at Zidian Family Arena will begin on Tuesday at 6 p.m. against Robert Morris.
