Bono Recognized as #HLSD Men's Swimmer of the Week

The Youngstown State men's swimming and diving program has been represented in the #HLSD weekly awards for the second time this season, the Horizon League announced Wednesday.
Senior Dominic Bono was recognized as the Horizon League Men's Swimmer of the Week, the first selection of his Penguin career, for his efforts this past weekend at the Akron Zips Classic. Bono won two events, his first being the 400 IM where he swam a time of 3:59.23, and his second being the 200 backstroke where he clocked a time of 1:49.17.
Bono helped the men to their second overall team victory this season through their first three meets, as the Penguins placed first out of four teams, totaling 1149.5 points, 66 points ahead of second-place Xavier.
Bono and the Penguins men's and women's swimming and diving teams will be back in action on Oct. 26 when they travel to New York for a dual with Niagara.
