Guins to Entertain Butler, Georgetown to Close Out January

The Youngstown State women's tennis team concludes a three-match homestand to open the season with contests against Butler on Friday and Georgetown on Sunday at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
First serve for the contest against the Bulldogs is 3 p.m. on Friday while Sunday's match against the Hoyas is set for 2 p.m. The YSU men's team will play Butler and Georgetown prior to the women's matches each day.
YSU (1-0) opened the season with a strong 5-2 win over Niagara last week at home. The Guins won all three doubles contests before claiming wins in four singles tilts.
Against the Purple Eagles, YSU's Eliska Masarikova, Lorena Cedeno, Elinor Beazley and Line Greyling picked up straight set wins.
Butler enters the match with a 0-2 record after dropping contests to Big Ten foes Indiana and Northwestern. Georgetown (1-2) picked up its first win of the season beating Richmond last Sunday. The Hoyas and Bulldogs will play at YSU on Saturday.
YSU's most recent victory over Butler came on April 26, 2009, in the consolation round of the Horizon League Championships. Sunday's contest against Georgetown is the first in school history.
