Penguins Set to Host Butler, Georgetown to Close Out Homestand

The Youngstown State men's tennis team concludes a three-match homestand to open the season with contests against Butler on Friday and Georgetown on Sunday at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
First serve for the contest against the Bulldogs is 11 a.m. on Friday while Sunday's match against the Hoyas is set for 10 a.m. The YSU women's team will play Butler and Georgetown following the men's matches each day.
YSU (1-0) opened the season with a strong 7-0 win over Binghamton last week at home. The Guins won two of three contests to take the doubles point and swept all six singles matches.
Against the Bearcats, YSU's Nathan Favier, Nishant Dabas, Harry Fouzas and William Rassat all claimed straight set wins. Winning the three-set super tiebreakers were Clement Mainguy and Onder Balci as both rallied after dropping their first sets.
Butler enters the match with a 1-2 record after beating Marian (Ind.) following losses to Toledo and Ball State. Georgetown (1-0) opened the season with a 5-2 win over George Mason. The Hoyas and Bulldogs will play at YSU on Saturday.
The Guins played road contests at both schools last year dropping a 4-3 contest to Georgetown and a 5-2 bout to Butler. YSU's last win over Butler was on April 22, 2012. This will be the first contest in Youngstown between YSU and GU.
