Prajunpanich Paces Penguins on Day One of Roseann Schwartz Invitational

Freshman Neeranuch Prajunpanich is tied for third and the Youngstown State women's golf team is in fifth place following the first round of the Roseann Schwartz Invitational on Saturday at Mill Creek Golf Course in Boardman, Ohio.
The Penguins posted a first-round team score of 308 to sit in fifth place heading into Sunday's second and final round. YSU is only five strokes back of the leaders Indiana State and Cleveland State, which each recorded a 303 on Saturday. Bucknell is in third place with a 306 while Detroit Mercy is fourth with a 307.
Prajunpanich's one-over-par 73 in the opening round featured nine pars and four birdies as she fired an even-par 36 on the front nine. The true freshman sits three strokes off the lead heading into Sunday's final session.
Madie Smithco is tied for 17th after carding a round of 78 that included seven pars and three birdies. Chaela Barnett is also tied for 17th with a round of 78 that featured 12 pars and a birdie on the par-four No. 1.
Lizzie Saur is tied for 22nd after posting a round of 79 that included 10 pars and a birdie on the par-three No. 16. Titita Loudtragulngam is tied for 32nd after recording a round of 81 that featured nine pars and a birdie on the par-five No. 9.
Playing as individuals, Adena Rugola carded a first-round 83 that included a birdie on the par-five No. 9 while Kelly Hutton shot a 93 that also featured a birdie on No. 9.
Bucknell's Sofia Nogalo holds a two-stroke lead after one round of play after firing a two-under-par 70 on Saturday. Cleveland State's Kaitlin Kormuth is currently in second place after an opening-round 72 while three different players are tied for third with a 73.
Tee times for tomorrow's second and final round will begin at 8:51 a.m., and live scoring will be available at Golfstat.com.
