The Youngstown State Football Alumni/Ned Mervos Golf outing was another spectacular event as nearly 70 golfers were treated to a great time at the Youngstown Country Club on Friday. The event was sponsored in part by ms consultants, inc.

Taking first place in the event was the foursome of Dr. Frank Beck Jr., Frank Beck Sr., Thomas Beck and Tim Beck with a round of 61.

Head Coach Doug Phillips spoke with the group prior to the start of the event, thanking them for their continued support and discussing the high-standing tradition that the program maintains and strives for.

Winning hole prizes were:

• Brian Banfield with longest putt on No. 5 (37 feet, six inches)
• Paul Dolak with closest to the pin on No. 6 (13 free, nine inches)
• Justin Powell with longest drive on No. 7
• Matt Prologo with longest drive on No. 10
• Kevin Powell with longest putt on No. 13 (21 feet, eight inches)
• Ray Briya with closest to the pin on No. 16 (six feet, two inches)
