On behalf of the Youngstown State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Appleridge Productions and the YSU Penguin Club, we would like to once again ask for your support of our Penguins student-athletes through our third annual YSU World Penguin Day campaign.

Last year, our supporters raised roughly $30,000 helping our student-athletes and programs to reach their full potential in their sport and in the classroom.

According to Nationaldaycalendar.com, "Observed the world over on April 25th, World Penguin Day recognizes one of the unique birds on the planet". Daysoftheyear.com adds "World Penguin Day is a celebratory and educative initiative that encourages people to learn more about penguins …". In conjunction with that, Youngstown State Athletics has created YSU World Penguin Day to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of our student-athletes and ask that you continue to support them in their quest for success.

Since this time last year, our Penguins have achieved some great accomplishments:

• Men's Basketball Regular Season Horizon League Champions in 2022-23
• Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Champions in 2022 and 2023
• Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Champions in 2022
• Men's Tennis Horizon League Champions in 2022
• Women's Tennis Horizon League Champions in 2022 (postseason) and 2023 (regular season)
• Lacrosse Mid-American Conference champions in 2022
• The average cumulative GPA for our 500 student-athletes was 3.482 and all our teams earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the Fall of 2022
• 419 student-athletes earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (84%)

We need our Penguins to unite once again and provide the resources necessary to attain individual and team goals on the field and in the classroom. Please take this time to support our "YSU World Penguin Day" campaign and become a difference maker for YSU Athletics. Penguin Pride!!!
