Khuanrudee Tied for Second After Day Two of HL Championships

Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla. -- Fifth-year senior Puthita Khuanrudee is tied for third place individually and the Youngstown State women's golf team is in fifth after the second round of the 2023 Horizon League Championships on Monday at Mission Inn Resort's Las Colinas course.
The Penguins posted a team score of 315 on Monday after recording a 317 in the opening round on Sunday for a two-round total of 632. YSU was also in fifth place following the first round of play.
Green Bay moved up five spots on the leaderboard with a second-round 296 to take a nine-stroke lead heading into Tuesday's final round. The Phoenix were 14 strokes better than the second-best team score in the second session. Green Bay improved 23 strokes on Monday after posting a 319 in the opening round.
Cleveland State sits in second place with a two-round total of 624 while Oakland is in third with a 627. IUPUI is two shots in front of the Penguins in fourth with a 630.
Khuanrudee is tied for second place on the individual leaderboard after firing a two-over-par 74 in the second round on Monday. The fifth-year senior's second session featured 13 pars and an eagle on the par-five No. 14. Starting on No. 10, The Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand, native carded a two-under-par 35 on the back nine as she made par or better on each of her first 10 holes.
Khuanrudee is two strokes off the lead at five over par with a two-round total of 149 (75-74). Cleveland State's Sabrina Coffman holds the second-round lead with a two-round total of 147 (74-73) while Green Bay's Ashley Kulka is also tied for second with a 149 (77-72). Khuanrudee's 28 pars through two rounds are the most by any player in the tournament field.
Madie Smitcho is tied for 15th after turning in a five-over-par 77 in the second round on Monday. The junior's second session included 11 pars and a pair of birdies on No. 2 and No. 3. After starting on No. 10, Smithco made par or better on 13 consecutive holes from No. 13 to No. 7. The Cranberry Township, Pa., native opened the event with an 81 on Sunday.
Titita Loudtragulngam is tied for 23rd after carding an 82 in the second session on Monday. The junior's second round featured seven pars and a two birdies that came at No. 2 and No. 9. After a rocky back nine, Loudtragulngam bounced back with a one-over-par 36 on the front nine. The Chonburi, Thailand, native started the tournament with a first-round score of 80 on Sunday.
Danae Rugola is tied for 26th following a second-round score of 82 on Monday. The senior's second session included nine pars and a birdie on the par-four No. 3. The Uniontown, Pa., native posted an 81 in the opening round on Sunday.
Lizzie Saur is also tied for 26th after shooting a second-round 82 on Monday. The sophomore's second round featured 10 pars as she made par on six of her first seven holes. The Grove City, Ohio, native opened the tournament with a first-round 81 on Sunday.
The Penguins will play the third and final round of the Horizon League Championships on Tuesday morning. YSU's first tee time is scheduled for 8:20 off No. 10.
