Khuanrudee Places Second to Lead Penguins at Horizon League Championships

Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla. -- Fifth-year senior Puthita Khuanrudee placed second individually to lead the Youngstown State women's golf team to a fifth-place finish in the 2023 Horizon League Championships, which on concluded on Tuesday at Mission Inn Resort's Las Colinas course.
The Penguins posted a team score of 309 in the final round on Tuesday to finish the tournament with a three-round total of 941. YSU recorded team scores of 317 and 315 in the first two rounds, respectively, on Sunday and Monday.
Green Bay claimed the league title by 12 strokes with a three-round 914. Oakland finished as the runner-up with a 926 while Cleveland State placed third with a 928. IUPUI finished five shots in front of the Penguins in fourth with a 936.
In her final collegiate tournament, Khuanrudee finished in second place with a three-round score of 223 (75-74-74) to earn a spot on the Horizon League All-Tournament Team for the third consecutive season. The fifth-year senior's two-over-par 74 in the final round featured 11 pars, a birdie on the par-three No. 2 and an eagle on the par-five No. 5.
Khuanrudee carded an even-par 35 on the front nine as she made par or better on 12 of her first 14 holes. The Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand, native led all players in the tournament field with 39 pars and she was one of two players to card a pair of eagles.
Cleveland State's Sabrina Coffman earned medalist honors by three strokes with a three-round 220 (74-73-73).
Madie Smithco placed 16th with a three-round total of 236 (81-77-78). The junior final-round 78 included 13 pars as she made par on 10 of her final 12 holes. The Cranberry Township, Pa., native was three over par on both the front and back nine.
Titita Loudtragulngam tied for 17th with a three-round 237 (80-82-75). The junior moved up six spots on the individual leaderboard in the final session with a three-over-par 75 that featured 11 pars and two birdies. The Chonburi, Thailand, native made par or better on 12 of her first 15 holes as she shot a one-over-par 38 on the back nine. Loudtragulngam's birdies came at No. 6 and No. 13.
Danae Rugola tied for 28th with a three-round score of 245 (81-82-82). The senior's final-round 82 on Tuesday included nine pars and a birdie on the par-four No 1.
Christina Lewis entered the lineup as a substitute for the final round of play. In her final collegiate round, the senior recorded an 87 that was highlighted by a birdie on the par-five No. 5.
