Men's Tennis Visits UAB, Samford In Matches This Week

The Youngstown State men's tennis team heads to Alabama this week for contests against UAB and Samford.
The Penguins (5-5) take on the Blazers (8-3) on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Eastern time at the Hoover Met Tennis Center. YSU will tangle with the Bulldogs (6-5) on Wednesday at Noon at Samford's Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion.
YSU was last in action on Feb. 18 when it beat previously-unbeaten North Dakota.
This spring, Nathan Favier leads the Guins with seven singles while Laurentiu Mandocescu has six wins. Javi Gonzalez Pla and Will Everett have each won five matches so far this spring for YSU.
The meeting against UAB will be the first contest between the schools in program history. The Guins last played Samford on March 11, 2019 in Orlando, Fla.
