Women’s Golf Resumes Spring Schedule Monday at NKU’s The Julie

The Youngstown State women's golf team will resume its spring schedule on Monday when it begins play in The Julie hosted by Northern Kentucky at Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio.
The Penguins are coming off a dual match victory over Winthrop on March 8 at Rock Hill Country Club in Rock Hill, S.C. The Penguins posted a single-round team score of 323 to defeat the Eagles by two strokes and earn their fourth event victory of the 2022-23 season. With four event wins, YSU is one victory shy of matching the single-season program record of five. This season marks the seventh time that YSU has won at least four events in a campaign. Youngstown State has now won at least four tournaments three times in the last five seasons.
The tournament field at The Julie will feature 10 other schools including Cleveland State, Eastern Illinois, Green Bay, University of Indianapolis, Lindenwood, Niagara, Northern Kentucky, Saint Francis, Southern Indiana and Thomas More University. In addition, Cincinnati will have individuals competing at the event.
The teams will play 18 holes on Monday and Tuesday in the two-day, 36-hole event. Monday's first round will begin at 9 a.m. with split tee times off No. 1 and No. 10. Tuesday's second and final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. with split tee times off No. 1 and No. 10. The course will play approximately 5,880 yards and par is 71. Head Coach Nate Miklos has announced that YSU's lineup will feature Danae Rugola, Madie Smithco, Lizzie Saur, Titita Loudtragulngam and Chaela Barnett. In addition, Christina Lewis and Adena Rugola will be competing as individuals.
Danae Rugola, Smithco, Saur and Loudtragulngam have competed in each of YSU's first eight events this season. Barnett and Adena Rugola will each be participating in their fifth tournament of the campaign while Lewis will be competing for the fourth time in 2022-23.
