
Distance Runners Open Outdoor Season at NC State Raleigh Relays

The Youngstown State men's and women's track and field teams will send five distance runners to the NC State Raleigh Relays this Thursday and Friday at the Paul Derr Track and Field Facility.
Competing for the women are Morgan Cole (5,000m) and Malena Cybak (1,500m) while the men will send Ryan Meadows (5000m), Tyler Clark (5,000m) at Ty Coon (1500m) to Raleigh.
The men's 1,500m is set to begin at 4 p.m. on Thursday with the 5,000m run set for 6:33 p.m. Tentatively schedule are 15 sections of the 1,500m and 10 of the 5,000m. The women's 1,500m is set to start at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with 15 sections planned as well. The 5,000m is set for a 6:25 p.m. start with eight sections of the race slated to be held.
Cybak will be in section one of the 1,5000m, Cole runs in section six of the 5,000m, Coon competes in section three of the 1,500m, Clark is in section one of the 5,000m and Meadows is in section six of the 5,000m.
The bulk of the squad will open up the outdoor campaign next week. YSU has athletes slated to attend the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, the Texas State Bobcat Invitational and the William & Mary Colonial Relays.
Last year, YSU sent a big contingent to NC State, but didn't compete at a full-scale meet for two weeks following the trip to North Carolina.
