Women’s Golf Continues Spring Slate Saturday at Columbia Classic

The Youngstown State women's golf team will continue its spring season on Saturday when it begins play in the Columbia Classic at Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Fla.
The Penguins are coming off a 5-1 match play victory over The Citadel in their spring season opener on Feb. 4. Puthita Khuanrudee, Titita Loudtragulngam, Danae Rugola, Madie Smithco and Lizzie Saur each won individual matches to power YSU to its third tournament win of the 2022-23 season.
The tournament field for the Columbia Classic will feature 13 other schools including Albany, Boston U, Columbia, Dartmouth, Notre Dame, Old Dominion, Penn State, Princeton, Richmond, Seton Hall, St. John's, Texas Tech and Tulsa.
The teams will play 18 holes on Saturday, Sunday and Monday in the three-day, 54-hole event. The first two rounds will start with tee times off No. 1 and No. 10 beginning at 8 a.m. The third and final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The course will play approximately 6,357 yards and par is 72. Head Coach Nate Miklos has announced that YSU's lineup will feature Khuanrudee, Loudtragulngam, Rugola, Smithco and Saur. All five Penguins in the lineup have competed in each of the team's first six events this season.
