Youngstown State senior Josi Borum posted her fourth triple-double in the last six matches as the Penguins fell 3-1 at Green Bay on Saturday. The set scores were 25-22, 25-22, 24-26, 25-19.
Borum finished with 11 kills, 22 assists and 13 digs for the Penguins. Paula Gursching had a game-high 21 kills while hitting .309, and Abbie Householder posted 10 kills.
Defensively, Kiyah Franklin tied for match-high honors with five blocks, and Isidora Sisic had 16 digs to lead all players.
Youngstown State led 21-19 in the opening set, but a Green Bay finished the set on a 6-1 run. Each of the first three points came from the service line. The second set was tied as late as 19-19 following a block by Franklin and Nadia Pace, but Green Bay had the edge late again and won 25-22.
A four-point YSU run in the third set gave the Penguins a 9-7 lead, and another 4-0 run put them ahead 20-17. Green Bay rallied to tie the score at 23 and 24 before Borum and Householder finished the set with back-to-back kills.
In the fourth, Green Bay had a 6-1 run midway through to take a 17-10 lead. YSU got within three twice but couldn't catch up.
Youngstown State will begin a four-match homestand on Tuesday by hosting Oakland. The contest at Beeghly Center will begin at 6 p.m.
