Penguins Drop Hard Fought Match at CSUN

Northridge, Calif. - The Youngstown State women's tennis team dropped a hard-fought 4-3 decision at Cal State Northridge at the Matador Tennis Complex on Thursday.
Winning matches for the Guins (5-7) were Cecilia Rosas, Elisa Rigazio and Julia Marko. At No. 1, Rosas picked up a come-from-behind 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 win over Jolene Coetzee. At No. 3, Marko earned an impressive 6-4, 6-4 win over Magdalena Hedrzak. Rigazio picked up a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) victory over Sasha Turchak at No. 4. A win at No. 5 singles by the Matadors was the clinching contest.
CSUN (5-3) earned two wins in doubles to claim the point and won in straight sets at No. 2 singles and won by a retirement at No. 6 singles.
The Penguins conclude their California trip with a contest at Long Beach State on Thursday. First serve against The Beach is set for 5 p.m. Eastern/2 p.m. Central Time.
