Penguins Set to Host Cleveland State on Senior Day Saturday

The Youngstown State men's and women's swimming and diving programs will honor seniors at their dual-meet against Cleveland State on Saturday in the Beeghly Natatorium. Diving is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by swimming events beginning at 11 a.m.
The program will honor seven student-athletes who are set to graduate this year. The senior celebration will take place at 10:45 a.m.
Last Time Out
The Penguins were last in action on Saturday in Niagara Falls, N.Y. The men defeated Niagara 173.50 to 126.50 while the women beat Saint Francis (Pa.) 170 to 124 but lost to Niagara 167 to 133.
Freshman standout James Slessor won three individual events for the Penguins. He finished first in the 100 and 200 breast with times of 57.66 and 2:08.85, respectively, and also earned a victory in the 200 IM.
For the women, freshman Miriam Frass swam the fifth-fastest time in YSU history in the 1000 free, finishing first with a time of 10:31.32, beating the competition by almost 30 seconds. Frass also won the 500 free.
The divers had an impressive performance at the meet. Cody Thill swept both the one- and three- meter dives for the men while Kayla Wrasman swept both dives for the women. Thill's score of 325.13 in the three-meter set the school record.
Aleksa Radenovic and Gavin Webb also earned multiple individual event victories. Radenovic won both the 100 and 200 fly while Webb earned victories in the 500 and 1000 free. Soma Albert also picked up an individual victory, finishing first in the 200 back.
On the women's side, freshman Anna Kozinska also picked up an event victory, placing first in the 100 back.

Up Next
The men's and women's diving programs will be back in action beginning on Thursday, November 17 as they head to the three-day West Virginia Invite in Morgantown, W. Va. at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park.
The swimmers and divers will return to action together at the three-day Miami (OH) Invitational at the Nixon Aquatic Center in Oxford, Ohio beginning on Thursday, December 1.
