
Penguins Head to Tri-Meet Against Niagara, Saint Francis

The Youngstown State men's and women's swimming and diving programs will return to action against Niagara and Saint Francis (Pa.) at the Oxy Aquatic Center in Niagara Falls, N.Y. on Saturday. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
Last Time Out
The Penguins last competed at the Akron Zips Classic on October 7-8 where the men earned the meet victory with eleven event wins throughout the two-day competition. The men defeated Denison and Xavier in their victory.
Aleksa Radenovic picked up four individual event victories in the 200 IM, 100 fly, 100 back, and 200 fly. His incredible performance earned him the first Nike Horizon League Men's Swimmer of the Week award of the season.
Freshman James Slessor also earned multiple individual event victories as he finished first in both the 100 and 200 breast. Rares Druga, Soma Albert, and Dominic Bono also earned individual event victories for the Penguins. Druga finished first in the 50 free while Albert won the 200 back. Bono earned his victory in the 400 IM.
Gavin Webb secured three second-place finishes in the 500 free, 1650 free, and 400 IM.
The men also had success in the diving events as Cody Thill placed second in the three-meter dive while freshman Brooks Adams finished third in the one-meter dive.
The women finished fourth at the meet. Freshman Miriam Frass delivered an impressive performance, winning the 500 free with a time of 4:57.71, the third-fastest time in YSU history.
The women also performed well in the diving events with Kayla Wrasman and Dasha Toth finishing fifth and sixth, respectively.

Up Next
YSU will have their sole swimming and diving home meet of the season on Saturday, November 5 at Beeghly Natatorium. Diving will kick off the meet at 9 a.m., and the swimming events will start at 11 a.m.
