Cincinnati, Ohio - The Youngstown State women's tennis team picked up a 5-2 win over Northern Kentucky on Saturday afternoon at the Lindner Tennis Center.
With the victory, YSU improves to 15-8 overall and 8-1 in the Horizon League while NKU drops to 6-6 and 3-4.
YSU earned the doubles point and picked up wins at No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to claim the match.
In doubles play, Lucia Zagar and Cecilia Rosas earned a 6-3 win at No. 2 to clinch the point after Jessica Stanmore and Claudia Barboza won 6-1 at No. 3.
At No. 3 singles, Zagar picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win over Elizabeth Rozin. At No. 4, Eliska Masarikova beat Laura Sola Grau, 6-4, 6-2. At No. 5, Stanmore earned a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Ananya Kothakota. Barboza won a 6-4, 6-2 decision over Sylvia Gray at No. 6.
NKU picked up straight set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.
The Guins and Norse conclude the regular season with an 11 a.m. match on Sunday.
