Shutt Leads Penguins to Dual Victory Over Cleveland State

Katlyn Shutt earned medalist honors to lead the Youngstown State women's golf team to a 302-305 dual victory over Cleveland State on Saturday at Youngstown Country Club.
The Penguins have now claimed three dual victories and four tournament wins overall this season. It marks the sixth time in program history that YSU has earned at least four tournament victories in a season.
Shutt fired a season-low round of 70 (-1) to earn medalist honors for the fifth time in her career. The senior's round featured 14 pars, one birdie and an eagle on the par-five No. 17.
Danae Rugola placed second with a one-over-par 72 to earn her fourth top-five finish of the season. The sophomore's round included 11 pars and three birdies.
Madie Smithco finished fifth with a career-low round of 76. The freshman's round featured 10 pars and a pair of birdies.
Victoria Gräns and Jenna Vivo each carded a 79 to finish tied for ninth while Ally St. Clair placed 11th with an 81. Gräns' 79 marked her lowest round of the season.
Britney Jonda and Christina Lewis each recorded an 82 to tie for 12th. Kara Raines finished 15th with an 84 while Tori Utrup placed 16th with a 90.
Youngstown State will now prepare for the Horizon League Championships, which will take place April 25-27 at Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, Ind.
