
Penguins Remain Unbeaten in League Play; Beat Oakland 7-0

Rochester, Mich. - The Youngstown State women's tennis team picked up a 7-0 victory over Oakland at the Bloomfield Tennis and Fitness Center on Sunday afternoon.
With the victory, YSU improves to 6-0 in Horizon League play and 13-7 overall while Oakland drops to 2-10 and 2-2. The Guins defeated OU 7-0 on Saturday and dropped only one set in singles play over the weekend.
In doubles, the Golden Grizzlies defaulted at No. 3 doubles and YSU won the point with 6-2 win at No. 2 by Jessica Stanmore and Claudia Barboza.
In singles, YSU won all three contested matches in straight sets. At No. 1, Tamara Teufl won 6-4, 6-2 over Yazmin Glazbrook. Cecilia Rosas picked up a 6-2, 6-1 over Nirva Patel at No. 2. At No. 3, Lucia Zagar defeated Mia Melinski, 6-4, 6-2. Eliska Masarikova won 6-2, 6-3 over Joelle Taberbal at No. 4 singles. At No. 5, Stanmore won 6-3, 6-3 over Emma Hultqvist.
The Penguins have a big Horizon League two-match series next weekend when they visit UIC. Both matches at the UIC Outdoor Tennis Courts are set for 11 a.m. Eastern time.
