Penguins Cruise to 7-0 Victory Over Oakland

Rochester, Mich. - The Youngstown State women's tennis team picked up a 7-0 win over Oakland at the Bloomfield Tennis and Fitness Center on Saturday.
The Penguins have won eight of their last nine matches to improve to 12-7 overall and 5-0. Oakland falls to 2-1 in the Horizon League and 3-9 overall.
In doubles, YSU earned a victory by default at No. 3 while Jessica Stanmore and Cecilia Rosas picked up a 6-2 win to clinch the point.
In singles, Tamara Teufl picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win over Yasmin Glazbrook at No. 1. At No. 2, Rosas defeated reigning Horizon League player of the week Nirva Patel 6-2, 6-2. Lucia Zagar earned a 6-3, 7-5 win against Mia Melnizki at No. 3. At No. 4, Eliska Masarikova dropped her first set 6-2 to Joëlle Tabernal before regrouping to take the next two sets 6-4, 6-1. At No. 5, Stanmore was victorious by a 6-2, 6-3 margin over Emma Hultqvist.
The Guins and Golden Grizzlies conclued their weekend series on Sunday. First serve at the Bloomfield Tennis and Fitness Center is set for 4:30 p.m.
