YSU Drops Tough Match to UT-San Antonio

Las Vegas, Nevada - The Youngstown State women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 match to UT-San Antonio on Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
Four of the six singles matches went three sets in the hard-fought bout.
The Roadrunners won the doubles point with 6-4 victories at No. 2 and No. 3. The Penguins earned a win at No. 1 as Cecilia Rosas and Elvira Esteo earned a 6-3 win over Jasmine Starr and Keegan McCain.
UTSA won at No. 2 and No. 3 singles as Rosas lost her second set in 7-6 (4) tiebreaker.
The Guins dropped first sets in the other four singles matches before rallying to win the second set in each. Esteo won her second set, 6-4, Tamara Teufl won her set 7-5 at No. 1, Jessica Stanmore won her set 6-4 at No. 6 and Eliska Masarkiova won her second set 6-4.
A win at No. 4 sealed the victory for UTSA. Masarikova led 5-1 in the third and Stanmore was up 4-2 in the third as well before the match was clinched.
YSU (1-2) returns to play on Saturday when it takes on UNLV. First serve is set for 1 p.m. Eastern time.
