Penguins Drop Two Contests to Ball State

The Youngstown State women's tennis team dropped a pair of contest to Ball State on Saturday at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
The Cardinals beat the Penguins 4-1 and 4-0 in a same-team doubleheader. YSU won the doubles point in the opener, but Ball State was strong in singles to win both contests.
In the first match, the Guins won two of three matches to earn the doubles point. At No. 1, Elvira Esteo and Cecilia Rosas won 6-4 while at No. 2, Tamara Teufl and Eliska Masarikova won 6-3.
In singles play, the Cardinals earned wins at No. 1, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to win the match.
In the second match, Teufl and Masarikova won 6-2 at No. 2 doubles, but the Cardinals won at No. 1 and No. 3 to earn the point. Ball State won at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 singles to earn a 4-0 victory.
The Penguins will return to action on Friday when they play host to St. Bonaventure. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
