YSU Wins Third Straight With 5-2 Win Over Toledo

The Youngstown State women's tennis team won its third straight match with a 5-2 win over Toledo on Friday afternoon at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
It was the Penguins' first win over the Rockets since 2006 and stopped an 11-match losing streak in the series.
The Penguins (4-4) won two of three doubles matches to earn the point. At No. 1, Cecilia Rosas and Elvira Esteo earned a 6-3 win while at No. 2, Tamara Teufl and Eliska Masarikova also picked up a 6-3 win.
In singles play, YSU earned wins at No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 singles.
At No.1, Teufl beat Sloane Teske, 6-0, 6-4. At No. 3, Lucia Zagar earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Julia Kuszynski. Esteo picked up a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Patricia Panta at No. 4 and Masarikova won 6-2, 6-4 over Shalini Tallamraju.
YSU returns to action on Saturday when they play host to Ball State in a doubleheader. The first match is set for 11 a.m. with the second contest set for 3 p.m.
