Oxford, Ohio - The Youngstown State women's swimming and diving team competed at the three-day Miami Invitational which concluded on Saturday at the Miami University Aquatic Center.
YSU had a strong performance in the diving events. Tess Weiskopf was second in the one-meter dive with a score of 230.80. Dasha Toth finished fifth in Platform diving with a score of 161.60. She scored a 173.60 in the prelims. Toth earned a sixth-place finish in the one-meter event with a score of 208.95. In the three-meter, Kayla Wrasman was third with a score of 235.20 and Weiskopf was fourth with a 226.70.
YSU's best swimming event was the 1,650 yard freestyle. Jael Dankle was second with a time of 17:22.43, Hailey Clark was third clocking a time of 17:40.38, Josie Preski was fifth with a time of 18:01.61 and Kyndall Hindman was sixth at 18:17.59.
In the 200-yard butterfly, Gunnhildur Baldursdottir finished seventh posting a time of 2:11.03.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Kamden Batchik was ninth with a time of 58.14 seconds while Moreno was 10th clocking a 58.80.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Macy Wang finished ninth with a time of 2:28.45 while Olivia Kaniak was 10th with a time of 2:29.36 and Brittany Sage was 11th with a time of 2:29.87.
In the 400 IM, Hindman was ninth posting a time of 4:38.22 while Dankle was 10th at 4:39.21 and Clark was 12th at 4:44.70.
Averi McCarthy picked up a 12th place finish in the 200-yard backstroke.
In the 500 free, Dankle was ninth with a time of 5:02.05 while Clark was 13th with a time of 5:10.63 and Preski placed 14th clocking a 5:14.14.
In the 50 free, Hannah Olger placed 13th with a time of 24.33 seconds.
In the team scores, Miami won with 1,444 points, Grand Canyon was second with 1,105 and YSU third with 608 points.
