Penguins Continue School Record Onslaught at Miami Invitational

Oxford, Ohio - YSU's Gavin Webb and Aleksa Radenovic each set three school records to lead a strong showing by the YSU men's swimming and diving team at the three-day Miami Invitational at the Miami University Aquatic Center.
Webb set new school marks in the 1650 free, the 500 free and the 400 IM during the meet. He set school marks in the 400 IM with a time of 3:57.68, the 500 free with a time of 4:29.98 and the 1650 free with a time of 15:22.11 in the finals of the event.
Radjenovic set new school marks in the 100 butterfly, the 200 butterfly and the 100 backstroke during the meet. He set a school record with a time of 47.63 seconds in the 100 butterfly. He set a school mark in the 100 backstroke leading off the 400-medley relay with a time of 48.88 seconds. On Saturday, he set the school record in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:45.73.
Other Penguins to set school marks are Karan Raju, Simon Iwanonkiw and Brenden Reeves. Raju set the school record in the 200 free with a time of 1:40.47. Reeves set a school mark in the 200 IM with a time of 1:49.83. Simon Iwanonkiw set a school record in the Platform Dive.

In the 1650 free, Webb finished second by less than two seconds. He posted a time of 15:22.11 finishing just behind the winner from GCU, Mikhail Lyubavskiy who swam a race of 15:20.74. Dominic Bono placed fourth with a time of 16:00.81 and Chris Barton had a time of 16:04.95 to place fifth.
In the 200 back, Radenovic was second with a time of 1:45.73 while Raju was fourth with a 1:49.20 and Jasper Liekens was sixth at 1:52.11. In the 100 back, Radenovic was second with his record time of 47.63 seconds while Wilson Cannon came in sixth with a time of 49.70 seconds.
In the 500 free, Barton was ninth with a time of 4:38.94 while Raju was 10th clocking a time of 4:39.66 and Bono was 12th with a 4:42.70. Bono earned a sixth-place finish in the 200 back with a time of 1:51.35.
In the 200 breast, Barton was seventh with a time of 2:06.80.
In the diving events, Cody Thill was sixth in the one-meter with a score of 227.40 and sixth in three-meter dive with a score of 244.65.
In the team scores, Grand Canyon won with a total of 1,278 points while Miami was second with 1,145 points and the Guins scored 688 points.
