Penguins Set to Host Niagara, Saint Francis; Celebrate Grads

The Youngstown State men's and women's swimming and diving team will host Niagara and Saint Francis (Pa.) Saturday at the Beeghly Natatorium. This is the team's first home tri-meet of the season. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
The program will honor eight student-athletes who are set to graduate this year.
YSU last competed on Saturday at a tri-meet against Valparaiso and Green Bay. Both the men and women had a very solid performance. The men's team beat the Barons by a score of 220-68 but just missed beating Green Bay with a score of 148-146. The women's team beat Valparaiso by a score of 223-69 but lost to Green Bay 155-144.
Kayla Wrasman and Dasha Toth had a very strong diving performance for the women. Wrasman won the three-meter dive, and Toth picked up her first career victory in the one-meter. Hailey Clark had two event wins in the 1000 and 500 free. Aubrey Whitaker earned a victory in the 200 free, and Olivia Wilcox finished first in the 100 back. Natalia Moreno picked up a win in the 200 fly. The women also earned first place in the 200-medley relay.
For the men, Aleksa Radenovic picked up two victories, one in the 100 fly and the other in the 100 back. Fabian Gines also finished first in two events, the 500 and 200 free. Soma Albert earned a victory in the 200 back, and Jasper Liekens won the 200 free. In addition, Gavin Webb finished first in the 1000 free.
