What is your current location?
I live in Boardman, Ohio.
How are you keeping your mind on swimming?
My goal to make finals next year at Horizon Leagues.
How have you looked at things differently in the past two weeks?
I won't be able to practice or see my friends. It doesn't seem to me that what has been happening is happening. It's weird not being able to leave my house.
What is going to be the toughest thing about not physically going to class?
Really nothing, I've been able to get good sleep and eat well, but I haven't been able to see my friends.
How has dealing with the current circumstances brought your team together?
It really hasn't made us get closer than we already are.
What makes you most excited for next year?
I am excited because by next year I will know what I need to do in order to become successful at school and swimming.
What do you enjoy the most about being at YSU?
What I enjoy the most is the independence that I have gained over the course of my first year.
What do you need to improve upon the most?
Focus, I've recently realized that my ADHD has been hindering my ability to stay focused school, but on other things I am fine. I think it could be that I get bored from doing school work and it's not exciting like the other things I do, but even than I'm not really sure why.
Have you learned anything about yourself during this?
Yes, I have learned that I need to focus on myself and not others not physically, but mentally. I have never really given myself a mental break from everything.
What are your hobbies and interests outside your sport?
I play video games with my friends, trying to play my drum set again, reading and watching TV.
If you weren't a swimmer or diver, what sport would you like to do?
It's not a sport, but I'd like to get better at playing the drums. I was one of the best on the drumline at my high school, but never really tried to play drum set. I know it sounds crazy but I'm very insecure when it comes to playing the set becomes I want to do well.
Any interesting story about yourself you would like to share?
I have come a long way because of this sport and there's not a thing I wouldn't do to give back to what has given me so much.
Who is the funniest person on the team?
Jackson Shellogg, he's just naturally funny.
Who is the smartest person on the team?
I would say Koran Raju because he has a lot wisdom when it comes to the sport.
Who is the toughest on the team?
Nolan Dennes, he's overcome many things mentally and physically.
Who was the most improved member of the team during 2019-2020?
I don't like answering about myself, but I believe that I have. I have learned many things over this season and I have dropped a great deal of time off my races at Horizon League.
