Youngstown State senior women's swimmer Tiphaine Saint-Gilles has been voted to the 2019-20 Horizon League All-Academic Team in recognition of her success in the pool and the classroom, the conference office announced on Thursday.
Her selection gives YSU's women's swimming and diving program an All-Academic Team selection for the sixth straight year.
In the pool in 2019-20, Saint-Gilles placed eighth at the Horizon League Championships in both breaststroke events. She posted season-best times in both events, finishing the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:04.14 and the 200 in 2:21.11. The Dijon, France, native finished her career holding the second-fastest time in program history in the 200 breast and the third-best mark in the 100 breast.
In the classroom, Saint-Gilles carries a 3.81 grade-point average as a business major. She registered a perfect 4.0 GPA in 17 credit hours in the fall semester.
The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with seasonal Academic All-League Teams in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests.
