Penguins Have Strong Showing at Miami Invitational

Oxford, Ohio - The Youngstown State women's swimming and diving team had a strong showing at the three-day Miami Invitational which concluded on Saturday at the Nixon Aquatic Center.
In the 200-yard backstroke, Jamie Leming led the way for the Penguins with a time of 2:09.75. Hannah Olger was the Penguins' top performer in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.36 seconds.
In the 200-yard breaststroke Mallory Pitstick posted a time of 2:24.42 to lead the way. Freshman Gunnhildur Baldursdottir was the top finisher in the 200-yar butterfly with a time of 2:08.99.
Freshman Jael Dankle had a third-place finish in the 1,650 freestyle with a team-best performance of 17:49.15. Dankle also led the way with a time of 4:44.28 in the 400 IM. She also had the Penguins' best time in the 500 freestyle posting a time of 5:13.58.
Freshman Ella Ker had a fifth-place time of 1:05.37 in the 100-yard breaststroke while Pitstick was sixth with a time of 1:05.64.
Tess Weiskopf was second in the three-meter dive with a score of 242.80 and was fourth in the one-meter dive with a score of 227.55.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Olivia Wilcox posted a team-best time of 58.56 seconds.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Aubrey Whitaker posted a time of 1:58.02. Leming led the Penguin in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.07 seconds.
Pitstick was the best performer in the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.40. Olger had the top time in the 50 freestyle at 24.86 seconds.
YSU was second in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:47.14. In the 800-yard freestyle relay, the Penguins clocked a time of 8:03.82. In the 400 Medley Relay, the Guins posted a time of 4:01.38. In the 400-yard freestyle relay, YSU finished in third place as Whitaker, Imo, Preski, Olger swam a time of 3:39.26.
