Penguins Drop Hard Fought Match at Toledo

Toledo, Ohio - The Youngstown State women's tennis team dropped a hard-fought 4-3 decision to Toledo on Saturday afternoon at the Twos Athletic Club.
The Penguins won three singles contests against the Rockets. Tamara Teufl, Elvira Esteo and Claudia Barboza each won for the Penguins.
Toledo earned the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2.
In singles, Teufl won 7-6 (1), 6-4 at No. 2 against UT's Eileen Carney. At No. 5, Esteo won 7-6 (2), 6-1 over Laura Morera while Barboza won by default at No. 6. Esteo won each of her two matches to open the season. At No. 4, Cassandra Moraleja dropped a tough 6-3, 6-7, 6-2 match to Sloan Teske. The Rockets earned straight set wins at No. 1 and No. 4 singles.
The Penguins are next in action on Friday when they play host to Saint Francis at the Avalon Athletic Club in Boardman.
