Esteo, Barboza Pick Up Wins Against Bowling Green

Perrysburg, Ohio - Claudia Barboza and Elvira Esteo picked up three-set wins for the Youngstown State women's tennis team on Friday afternoon against Bowling Green. The Penguins dropped a 5-2 dual to the Falcons at the Perrysburg Tennis Center.
Both Barboza and Esteo dropped their first set before rallying to earn victories. At No. 5, Esteo lost her first set 7-5 to Marta Bettinelli before rebounding to win the second, 6-4. In the super tiebreaker, Esteo won the match by winning the set, 10-4. At No. 6, Barboza dropped her opener 7-6 (4) before winning the second in a 7-6 tiebreaker. In the third set super tiebreaker, she won 10-8.
The Falcons (1-2) earned the doubles point and won in straight sets at Nos. 1-4.
YSU (0-1) closes out its brief trip to Northwest Ohio against Toledo on Saturday. The match against the Rockets is set for 1 p.m.
