White Team Earns Intrasquad Victory On Relay Win

The White squad picked up a 243-237 win over the Red squad in the first mixed Red-White Intrasquad Meet in the YSU swimming and diving program's history.
The meet came down to the final event, a mixed 400-yard freestyle relay that featured two men's swimmers and two women's swimmers on each relay squad.
The White team of Aubrey Whitaker, Casey Prentice, Wilson Cannon and Ryan Scherer won the relay with a time of 3:30.25 while the Red took second at 3:31.50 and third at 3:35.89.
Karan Raju was a key scorer for the Red squad winning the 200-yard freestye (1:49.52), 100-yard freestyle (49.12 seconds), 200-yard butterfly (2:02.30) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:26.69).
Brandon Cheong won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:16.10), the 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.28) and the 200-yard IM (2:08.36) for the White team. Wilson Cannon won the 50-yard freestyle (22.40 seconds) and the 100-yard butterfly (53.36).
Highlighting the performances for the women was Josie Preski who won the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:56.31) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:20.72), Casey Prentice who won the 50-yard freestyle (24.67 seconds) and the 100-yard freestyle (55.42 seconds) and Tiphaine Saint-Gilles who won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.86) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:27.11).
The women's team opens the season next Saturday at Marshall.
