Seniors Shine in Final Match

The Youngstown State volleyball program's four seniors all had memorable efforts on Senior Day as the Penguins pushed Northern Kentucky in a five-set loss on Saturday. The set scores in YSU's season finale were 25-13, 25-18, 22-25, 22-25, 15-10.
Aleah Hughes set a new school record for attacks in a five-set match with 68, and she connected on a match-best 22 kills while adding 16 digs. Erin Kalahar had a season-best 11 kills and added four blocks, Valor Haggerty had seven kills and a career-best two solo blocks, and Carla Relitz posted a career highs of seven kills and three blocks.
Sophomore setter Libbie Darling had 46 assists and a career-best 23 digs, and Aimee Beaupre added eight kills.
Anna Brinkmann had 13 kills and 15 digs to lead NKU, which secured the fourth seed in the Horizon League tournament with the victory.
Youngstown State had a 59-56 edge in kills, but NKU had three more blocks and four more aces.
